- 1 lb ground Italian sausage (or ground beef)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook Meat: In a large pot, brown the ground sausage over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
- Add Broth and Tomatoes: Pour in the chicken broth and add the diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Add Noodles: Stir in the broken lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
