Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Prepare Dates: In a bowl, combine the chopped dates and boiling water. Stir in the baking soda and let it sit for about 10 minutes to soften.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
