Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz penne pasta (or your choice of pasta)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes (optional, for garnish)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion until the beef is fully cooked and the onion is translucent. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a simmer.
- Gradually add the shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a bit more beef broth or cream to reach your desired consistency.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until well coated in the creamy sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with diced tomatoes and chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
- Additional Tips: For a lighter version, consider using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef, and low-fat dairy options for the sauce.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
- Freezer-Friendly: This dish can be frozen, but the texture may change slightly upon reheating. It’s best to freeze before adding the pasta and sauce together.
