- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips (or Easter-themed candy)
- ½ cup sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles if using.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
